Achieving signal power amplification using energetically passive devices

چکیده

Abstract This article discusses some fundamental properties of electronic amplifiers and the associated implications. When defining passivity a multi-port circuit in sense net power consumption (rather than ability to amplify signals), devices such as transistors, which are commonly described “active”, have be considered passive, is referred “energetically passive” avoid confusion with other definitions. It shown that, when using energetically passive achieve signal amplification, amplifier necessarily has feature non-linear transfer function. The how two common concepts (class A B amplifiers) amplification can fundamentally related Poynting’s theorem that both these allow realization at least piecewise linear functions spite necessary non-linearity.

Power Quality Enhancement using Custom Power Devices

A Power quality problem is an occurrence manifested as a nonstandard voltage, current or frequency that results in a failure or mis-operation of end use Equipments. Utility distribution networks, sensitive industrial loads, and critical commercial operations all suffer from various types of outages and service interruptions which can cost significant financial 1oss per incident based on process...

Signal power asymmetry optimisation for optical phase conjugation using Raman amplification.

We numerically optimise in-span signal power asymmetry in different advanced Raman amplification schemes, achieving a 3% asymmetry over 62 km SMF using random DFB Raman laser amplifier. We then evaluate the impact of such asymmetry on the performance of systems using mid-link OPC by simulating transmission of 7 × 15 Gbaud 16QAM Nyquist-spaced WDM-PDM signals.

Passive Power Filter Design Using Genetic Algorithm

Continuous technological development facilitates the increase in the number of nonlinear loads that significantly affect the power quality in a power system and, consequently, the quality of the electric power delivered to other customers. One of the most common methods to prevent adverse effects of nonlinear loads on the power network is the use of passive filters. Design of such filter can be...

Estimation of harmonic interference parameters of surface-NMR signal using an adaptive method and residual signal power

Surface nuclear magnetic resonance (surface-NMR) method is a well-known tool for determining the water-bearing layers and subsurface resistivity structure. Harmonic interference is an inevitable interference in surface-NMR measurements. Accurate estimation of harmonic interference parameters (i.e., fundamental frequency, phase and amplitude) leads to better retrieval of power-line harmonics and...
